This is Another Test Post

Small area data is now available from the Census Bureau's American Community Survey. A New York Times website provides instant mapping capability, nationwide for 22 demographic and housing variables. The site is called Mapping America. It is incredibly fast and easy to use.

Some features:

1. Pick area to map by city or zip code
2. Mix of dot maps and shaded/choropleth
3. Major themes are Race and Ethnicity, Income, Housing and Families, and Education.
4. Dots represent different numbers of people depending on scale
5. Pan and zoom
   
6. Rollover to see actual numbers for a tract or county, depending on mapping scale
7. Viewers are encouraged to submit their insights via Twitter or Facebook
8. Times readers can submit their own maps (46 have as of today)
